Spring 2010 Fashion Trends

Spring 2010 Fashion Trends are definitely soft and pastel. Very light, feminine flowy fabrics. We saw a bit of this in the Oscars. Its pretty but thats it. I have enough pretty clothes. Maybe this new trend is to balance out all the edgy rocker stuff we saw this winter. Who knows! I don't dislike this trend but is it boring???

2010 Oscar Dresses

The 2010 Academy Awards better known as the Oscars was on ABC Sunday night. I did not watch the whole show because I was anxious to watch Hurt Locker. Which was a really good movie but not better than Avatar. But I was able to catch all the good and funny moments. I saw Monique's beautiful acceptance speech. The tear jerking Oscar presentation for actors that had passed away. I also saw Ben Stiller's awkward and funny moment dressed up as a Navi from Avatar. Sandra Bullocks heart felt moment accepting her award. I did are some beautiful dresses Sunday night. I'm not sure if I was swept of my feet. I think everyone went to the same stylist or everyone was on the vibe of either structured dresses or flowey feminine old Hollywood look. Here are some of my favorite pics.

My love for Gray! Bobino Pumps

Trend reports say that Gray is the new color on the radar. I've been into gray probably for almost two years. Its a simple basic color that gets over looked. I love sheer gray blouses. I only have one. I purchased it back when that whole victorian blouse phenomenon happened almost two to three years ago. Besides that I have a gray tank, gray kensie sweater jacket(I'm wearing it now), gray vest by H&M, gray leggings, and a gray striped shirt that looks awesome with a white or black jacket. So all i need is gray boots which I have been longing for since two years ago. I'm not sure if I would really wear them that often so thats why I haven't purchased any yet. Although I'm trying to stop shopping. These pumps were on sale for $25 bucks. I got additional 30 to 40% off plus free shipping. Amazing! I couln't help myself. I wore them out recently and forgot to take a head to toe picture. Well maybe I have one. I will have to double check. They went great with my fit. Definitely a dinner, work, or not a lot of walking shoe. Unfortunately for me I had to walk five blocks to my car in these shoes and plus I was standing all night, well dancing little two.Plus I had to use my Dr. Scholl inserts since my left foot runs a little small. The inserts were the ones for the ball of your foot. Depending on your foot structure these may or may not work for you. But despsite all of that I love them, especially for the price. But for future no more buying potentially uncomforable shoes its so hard becuase you want all of your shoes to be versatile for different outfits. So they are comfortable in certain situations. I'm trying to do better. Anywho!, what do you guys think?

Staying Classy at Lavo in Vegas baby!

"Yes I went to Vegas again!" Its one of my favorite places to go!
It was sort of a last minute trip kind of! But needless to say I fought the logic and went anyway! I had a great time with my girlfriends. I also had to fight the urge to fall into the skimpy ultra crazy Vegas fashion that circles every club like vultures over a carcass. This was one of the quick go to outfits I picked out. Luckily these items caught my eye when I had to make a return at Forever 21. This whole outfit is under $100 bucks. I wanted to wear nothing but one pieces on my Vegas trip but this skirt caught my eye. I wish they had a dress made out of this print. I love it! The skirt really reminded me of XS nightclub at the Wynn in Las Vegas. I've been there once before and its amazing! But I wore this outfit at Lavo at The Palazzo.

Necklaces-H&M-$3.50
Tank Top-Forever 21-$4.50
Rose Belt-Wet Seal-$9.99
Skirt-Forever 21-$11.50

Shop in your closet

I recently have come to realization that sooner or later my poles in my closet are going to collapse. I've taken items out of my drawers constantly, I taken things out of my closet and I still keep adding on and on. I've decided to try and limit myself to only a new item every two weeks instead of once a week. And it has to be a needed basic or something that I can't live without! Or the question I ask my friends when we shop"Will you dream about it?" So I'm trying to use more items already in my closet to put together new outfits. Its really fun coming up with interesting and creative things to wear out of my own closet! I'm up to date on a lot of trends. Accessories are a must for surviving this experiment. A few signature pieces that you love will definitely enhance your outfit. The picture below was taken a few weeks ago. I wanted to remember the outfit because I absolutely loved it and came up with it right before work. I will try to post more picks of myself but I need a tripod or I have to get ready before my boyfriend leaves for work! My office is very business casual. So I can get away with a lot. But I like dressing up more on the business side and adding a little bit of creativity so it isn't so boring and stuffy! Let me know what you think!

White Long Sleeve Shirt-$12.99-H&M
Charcoal Vest-$9.99-Forever 21
Indigo Blue Boyfriend Cardigan-$15.99-Forever 21
Blue/Gray Pants-$25.00-New York & Company
Cheetah print viscose scraf-$9.99- Everything $10 Store(FYI In every Las Vegas hotel)

Once upon a time when I was getting prepared to make a move into a new apartment or condo. I purchased a book called Apartment Therapy. It was such inspiration for me. It list www.apartmenttherapy.com favorite submissions for the best apartment, condo, loft, etc home decor. These are regular people who decorated there own homes. Given that some of them are artsy fartsy, creative people but they weren't trained in the art of interior design. I discovered the book first and then the website. Thankfully they have a blog, which I subscribe too! I just ran across a recent posting of one of my all time favorite wall papers. Yes wallpapers! I would love to put these in my house. But would my boyfriend be okay with the bright fuchsia background on the first one or the beautiful flower print on the other. Only putting them up without him knowing would be the true test!

What do you think? Like? Or I'm I crazy???

Accessory Report: Chain Bracelets

If you haven't noticed this year. There is a lot of rocker, edgy, leather, gothicish type designs hitting the stores. Just walk through Forever 21, they have tons of the above. This year this style became a little more marketable because the designs are versatile enough to pair them with softer pieces. I believe the leather or leatherish leggings started this whole look. Of course the orginal inspiration came from the 60s, 70s and 80s hard core rock styles. Those that dress this way regularly are the real pioneers. But for some reason fashionitas are liking this edgy look. So am I! Black, white, silver and gold are one of my all time favorite go to pairings. Its chic and classic at the same time. Above I've put together my favorite chain bracelets that are twined with metal or fabric. These bracelets are on my "I want list!" They definietely give your outfit that extra edge.
