Shop in your closet

I recently have come to realization that sooner or later my poles in my closet are going to collapse. I've taken items out of my drawers constantly, I taken things out of my closet and I still keep adding on and on. I've decided to try and limit myself to only a new item every two weeks instead of once a week. And it has to be a needed basic or something that I can't live without! Or the question I ask my friends when we shop"Will you dream about it?" So I'm trying to use more items already in my closet to put together new outfits. Its really fun coming up with interesting and creative things to wear out of my own closet! I'm up to date on a lot of trends. Accessories are a must for surviving this experiment. A few signature pieces that you love will definitely enhance your outfit. The picture below was taken a few weeks ago. I wanted to remember the outfit because I absolutely loved it and came up with it right before work. I will try to post more picks of myself but I need a tripod or I have to get ready before my boyfriend leaves for work! My office is very business casual. So I can get away with a lot. But I like dressing up more on the business side and adding a little bit of creativity so it isn't so boring and stuffy! Let me know what you think!

Once upon a time when I was getting prepared to make a move into a new apartment or condo. I purchased a book called Apartment Therapy. It was such inspiration for me. It list www.apartmenttherapy.com favorite submissions for the best apartment, condo, loft, etc home decor. These are regular people who decorated there own homes. Given that some of them are artsy fartsy, creative people but they weren't trained in the art of interior design. I discovered the book first and then the website. Thankfully they have a blog, which I subscribe too! I just ran across a recent posting of one of my all time favorite wall papers. Yes wallpapers! I would love to put these in my house. But would my boyfriend be okay with the bright fuchsia background on the first one or the beautiful flower print on the other. Only putting them up without him knowing would be the true test!

What do you think? Like? Or I'm I crazy???

Accessory Report: Chain Bracelets

If you haven't noticed this year. There is a lot of rocker, edgy, leather, gothicish type designs hitting the stores. Just walk through Forever 21, they have tons of the above. This year this style became a little more marketable because the designs are versatile enough to pair them with softer pieces. I believe the leather or leatherish leggings started this whole look. Of course the orginal inspiration came from the 60s, 70s and 80s hard core rock styles. Those that dress this way regularly are the real pioneers. But for some reason fashionitas are liking this edgy look. So am I! Black, white, silver and gold are one of my all time favorite go to pairings. Its chic and classic at the same time. Above I've put together my favorite chain bracelets that are twined with metal or fabric. These bracelets are on my "I want list!" They definietely give your outfit that extra edge.

American Apparel Rummage Sale

Thanks to my good friend Karen L. She told me about the American Apparel rummage sale. She is currently a student at FIDM San Diego. She found out by flyers and posters plastered all over her school.

We did not expect that many people to show up. The sale started at 9:30 a.m. We thought the line might be simlar to H&M store opening or a line in front of the store. We showed up at 9:45 and the line was around the corner down the block!. We waited for three hours in line for this sale. We had some much needed girl talk that we did, so it was worth it. I found so many great items! Here is one of my all time favorites that I purchased.

$48.00
I paid $10.00!!!

This sale was amazing. I will definitely be attending next year extra early. I never realized how American Apparel basics can be styled up so well. I'm definitely a new fan. Plus their products are made in the USA, which is a rarity these days. They actually don't have a sweatshop working enviroment and pay decent wages to their employees. Yeah to American Apparel for that!
